Who can apply?

  • The festival is open to all genres: cabaret, puppetry, musical theatre, storytelling and more.
  • Most of the cast must consist of non‑professional performers; fully professional productions are not eligible.
  • Your production must be scheduled after 15 May 2026.
  • You must be able to remount the production with the original cast at the Landjuweelfestival in the summer of 2027.
  • Your request for a selection visit must be submitted no later than four weeks before the start of your performance period; for later requests, we cannot guarantee that a selector will be available.
  • You provide a solid video recording of your production.

How does a selection visit work?

  • One or more selectors attend your performance; a post‑show conversation is not standard, but the selector may request one.
  • Afterwards, you will be informed whether the selectors have nominated your company or not. The decision is briefly motivated.
  • You will no longer receive an extensive written feedback report, but you can still request free artistic advice.
  • In May 2027, a selection jury will choose from all performances by the nominees. This results in the shortlist of productions that will be presented at the next Landjuweelfestival.

Place and address
Adult or youth performance

A youth performance consists of performers under the age of 26.

If you’re looking for neutral feedback on your performance, you can also request free theatre advice (www.opendoek.be/theateradvies).
I have read the practical guide and agree to its terms.

We ask for specific attention to point 1.4 (One theatre production per season per applicant) and point 1.5 (your production must be practically feasible to reprise at the Landjuweel Festival in order to be eligible for a selection visit).
