Theaterbib (Theater library)

OPENDOEK has a theatre library with a collection of approximately 30.000 titles. Plays of playwrights from all over the world: from Aafjes to Zuckmayer. Besides plays we also have study books on theatre and manuals for theatre makers. We have a broad range of books in Dutch, English, and other languages. A large amount is available digital.

Borrowing texts

Visit the Theaterbib during our opening hours — Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 — or borrow your texts digitally via the catalogue.

How to borrow?

Returning borrowed texts

You can return your borrowed texts and books at the Theaterbib or send them back by post. If you would like to extend the loan period for your borrowed books, please contact us by email or by phone.

Repertoire advice

Anyone is welcome to contact the Theaterbib for repertoire advice. Theatre groups can rely on us to help them find a suitable script — whether they need something for a specific cast, a particular genre, or a certain theme.

Questions about copyright?

Before you can perform a play, you need to request copyrights. From now on, you can submit (almost) all your requests through a single form on our website.
