Project V

Project V — with V for “vacation” — is a participation project by OPENDOEK for children and young people who cannot go on holiday. Through theatre workshops, we introduce young people in vulnerable situations to the joy of theatre.

Project V gives children the chance to take part in free theatre workshops during the summer holidays. Under the guidance of professional makers, from improvisation theatre to slam poetry. Project V is not a traditional summer camp, but a joyful theatre experience with moments spread throughout the entire summer.

Why Project V?

Many holiday projects for this vulnerable target group are short lived. Think of discounted rates for a football camp or a horse riding camp. A great moment in their holiday, but during the other seven weeks boredom sets in, and summer learning loss appears. Children forget a lot of what they learned at school.

That is why Project V chooses an approach in which participants come together once a week during the summer holidays. In this way, they remain engaged, stimulated and connected throughout the summer.

Meet the faces behind Project V

Our colleagues from the television program DOEK! visited the rehearsals and showcase moments. They spoke with the people behind Project V.
