What is Development guidance?

Development guidance is the most intensive format within speelhetslim. Where theatre advice helps you improve your production, Development guidance focuses on the long‑term growth of your organisation.

Development guidance is custom work. You collaborate with an expert who helps your group move forward. Each coach is selected for their expertise in a specific field. Based on your needs, you are matched with someone who acts as a mentor or sounding board and supports you through different working methods.

How long does a coaching trajectory take?

Development guidance is an intensive form of support. A full trajectory runs across three to five productions. In practice, this means about thirty hours in the field and ten hours of evaluation.

Who are the coaching experts?

OPENDOEK’s coaching experts are specialists in their field. We select them with great care. Based on your needs, you are matched with someone who brings the right expertise.

Sometimes the coach may involve an additional specialist as part of the trajectory. For example, a coach working on scenography may call a choreography expert for a specific component.

Procedure

Is your group a member of OPENDOEK? Great, request your development guidance through the form
Once your request is approved, we schedule a moment forthe intake interview.
After this first conversation, OPENDOEK searches for the most suitable coach.
You meet the coach. Afterwards, all parties sign the contract. This commits you to a trajectory of three to five productions.
If the coach wants to involve an additional specialist, this happens in consultation with OPENDOEK.
During the trajectory, several evaluation moments are organised with the group, the coach and OPENDOEK.
