Your next piece might feel like the best work you have ever done. Or it might feel like the biggest challenge you have faced as an individual maker or as a group. But what does a neutral theatre adviser think about it?
At OPENDOEK, you can invite a neutral theatre adviser. This expert visits a rehearsal or performance and shares the strengths and growth opportunities in a follow‑up talk. Where possible, the adviser offers a few concrete solutions. Afterwards, we ask you to write a short report on the feedback. This helps us understand what you or your group learned, and it allows the adviser to adjust where needed.
Request a theatre adviser at least one month in advance. You can indicate which part of your production needs support. We then look for the best match for your group.
Please note: you can request a theatre adviser only once per season.
Read all conditions for theatre advice before you submit your request.
It is unique to find a second wind during the rehearsal process. The feedback encouraged our actors to try new things. It broadened the director’s perspective. It lifted our performance to a higher level.
OPENDOEK wants to offer its members high‑quality theatre advice.
Since October 2019, more than 30 enthusiastic participants have started the training to become theatre advisers. We invest in professional teachers who train our advisers with passion for the craft, so your group truly benefits from the advice.
Across several training moments, we prepare the advisers thoroughly. They also complete an intensive internship, where they receive feedback from experienced professionals.
