About us
OPENDOEK is the organization that inspires, facilitates and supports theater in leisure time in Flanders and Brussels, allowing authors, makers, actors, storytellers and audiences to develop artistically and socially.
Leisure time theatre reaches a substantial amount of people in Flanders and Brussels and thus has an important social and economical impact.
- 1 in 4 people in Flanders has ever practiced theatre
- 1 in 3 people in Flanders watches theatre now and then
- Every year, 1.5 million people go to leisure time theatre
OPENDOEK is the only organization in Flanders & Brussels for leisure time theatre. We’re here for everyone with a passion for theatre. OPENDOEK wants to support all forms of theatre and neighboring art forms.

Becoming a member
- Becoming a member is possible as an individual or as a group
- If you do not want to become a member, but want to be kept informed, you can register
The membership of OPENDOEK always runs from the date of registration up to and including 31 August.
- Group contribution for organizations: €50,00
- Contribution individual membership (26 years or older): €12.00
- Contribution individual membership (-26 years): €6.00

Becoming a volunteer
Are you (temporarily) based in Flanders and do you want to roll up your sleeves and help leisure time theatre? Good news! You can become a volunteer for OPENDOEK.
All our volunteers receive a free membership of OPENDOEK, transportation costs (inside Belgium) and depending on the kind of volunteer work extra benefits.
